Fuel cell test stations

  •  Maximum power of 125 W
  • 3 different sets of fuel cell flow-field bipolar plates (graphite) can be used (5cm2) with either parallel or serpentine configurations; 25 cm2 plates are also available, however, the catalyst loading will need to be adjusted because the stations only handle up to 100 Watt of output
  • The test stations have been setup with anode gas: 99.9998 % H2 (N2 purge gas without “fuel supply” enabled); and cathode gases: 99.998 % O2, air, or 99.9998 % N2
  • A maximum flowrate of 2 L/min can be achieved for all gas supplies
  • Backpressure capable of a maximum pressure of 30 psi
  • A Versa STAT4 potential stat is also setup for any electrochemical experiments required such as hydrogen cross-over and impedance spectroscopy (EIS)
  • Automatic controlled fuel humidifier can be set from 0 to 100 % relative humidity (RH)
  • Catalyst coated membranes (CCMs) are prepared by the users
  • The 4D LABS ultrasonic spray coater can be used for spray coating the proton exchange membranes (PEMs) with the required anode and cathode catalyst layers
  • The users need to supply the gasket and gas diffusion layer (MPL/GDL) media themselves.
